VERDICT

Interesting dialogue between the shapes of the pools and the surrounding landscape, with architecture as an intermediary. The different mechanisms of sustainability (rainwater recovery, geothermal energy, ventilation) end up effortlessly integrated into the architectural ensemble.

DESCRIPTION

An infinity pool that reproduces the irregular shapes of the building has been built in combination with an indoor pool shaped as a swimming lane. The house has an underground water tank that not only collects rainwater but also collects water from filter backwashing, which can be safely reused for garden irrigation because the pool disinfection system does not jeopardize water quality.

VERDICT

The pool participates in an elaborate outdoor space, which is the result of dealing with a very rough topography and housing in it a careful landscaping job. Natural stone becomes the protagonist of the complex, deployed in a range of varieties.

DESCRIPTION

Combination of infinity pool and hot tub where special attention has been paid to the finishes and automation issues. Natural stone is the leading choice and has been used in a range of types, colours and shapes. The pool equipment includes automatic filling and cleaning systems, combined with filters of active glass media.

VERDICT

Deep rethinking of how a private leisure pool can be, with a strong bias towards natural shapes, forcing designers to find building solutions that are different to those of the usual repertoire.

DESCRIPTION

Pool that recreates the surrounding landscape of sea, sand and stones. The pool shell is built on top of an EPDM rubber waterproofing sheet in contact with the ground, covered with a mix of natural aggregates bonded with high performance resins. This structure is lighter and less invasive than a traditional concrete shell. Gentle slopes, an island in the middle of the pool, and sands and pebbles in different colours contribute to blend the pool in its location.
