VERDICT

Quantifies the presence of Legionella in a fraction of the time that conventional tests require, allowing more rapid diagnosis and also checking the results of the corrective measures applied. Its potential application goes beyond the pool market, extending to other fields such as cooling towers. It is worth noting that it is the result of a collaboration between researchers in the field of biology and the manufacturer of the photometer that provides the basis of the system.

DESCRIPTION

Kit for running legionella tests on a PrimeLab 1.0 photometer.
The common way to test legionella is a cultural method which requires incubation/growth during 7‐14 days in order to obtain results. Legipid® is based on immuniomagnetic methods that only need one hour to get quantitative results in the range of 60 to 1,000,000 cfu/l that comply with AOAC analytics standards. It is unaffected by the presence of dead legionella or other species that sometimes lead to false positive readings.

Handheld photometer with 2-way Bluetooth communication with a smartphone.
The photometer can run more than 35 tests that can be downloaded individually according to the needs of the user. The device sends the results to the phone, including GPS position, and the data can be stored to create a results history, and also emailed, shared in social media or exported as a .csv file. The app calculates RSI indexes and supports 7 languages.

It is the result of a complex product development process that has solved the challenge of integrating chlorine and insect repellent or other products in the same tablet.

DESCRIPTION

Chlorine tablet featuring an insect repellent additive which is microencapsulated in a nanoporous material.
The microcapsule protects the additive preventing the oxidization by the trichloroisocyanuric acid that would make it inoperative. Moreover, it contributes to release it progressively as the encapsulating agent fades away. It does not interfere with the performance of chlorine, leaves no residue and replaces the characteristic smell of the tablets with a more pleasant one.
